Feeds

The NCT recommends newborns feed every 2-3 hours (8-12 times a day).

If nursing, they recommend 20-30 min feeds.

The range of feeding time recommended is therefore:

• Min: 8 x 20 mins = 160 min = 2.7 hours / day
• Max: 12 x 30 mins = 360 mins = 6.0 hours / day

If you are supplementing with bottle feeds, you will be feeding for fewer hours.
